community playground & clubhouse upgrade

Tubber GAA and Kilkeedy Community Group have been successful in receiving grant funding as follows;

 Kilkeedy Community Group – Clár Grant for Community Playground – €50,000

Construction of a community playground at the GAA grounds, on lands gifted to Kilkeedy Community Group by Tubber GAA.

This will provide a safe area for the children to interact and play while parents can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

Tubber GAA Club – Sports Capital Grant for Upgrade of Clubhouse – €35,873

Upgrade of the existing clubhouse to a modern standard which will incorporate:

• New public toilets which will include an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities

• Upgrades to the existing dressing rooms, including increasing the size of the home dressing room

• Providing separate shower facilities for the home and away dressing rooms

Donation Scheme

We are inviting members of the local community to donate toward both projects. Where it is possible for people we would encourage a donation over €250 as this will attract an additional revenue benefit that can be realised at no additional cost to the person donating. We understand that due to the current circumstances we’re living through this may not work or be feasible for everyone and as such all donations will be greatly appreciated. We will be displaying signage around the playground to thank and acknowledge all donations irrespective of value donated.

Under Irish Revenue rules, an approved sports body can claim tax relief on donations made in relation to an Approved Project by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport (DTTAS) where the donation exceeds €250. We have sought approval for this development to be recognised as an Approved Project. When someone paying tax under the PAYE system donates, it is net of tax and allows the club to get the refund direct from Revenue – See below a table showing the benefit of this to the club of a donation from a PAYE Tax worker.

When someone who is self-employed donates, they will be able to deduct it against their income thus reducing their personal tax bills – See table attached for self-employed showing net cost to a donor and benefit the club receives.
